January 16--21, 2017     Happy Birthday Lake!

On Sunday, we attended our Sister Training Leader's baptism.  On Tuesday, we had five missionaries finish and return home.  Many of their family members joined us in Senopati for a farewell dinner and testimony meeting.  The next day we welcomed six new missionaries from the Philippines Missionary Training Center.  We also had three who were supposed to come in from the US but had Visa delays.  We fed them and trained them.  On Friday we flew to Manado for member and missionary interviews.  We also met and went out to dinner with Dr. Devy--an amazing eye surgeon with a wonderful family.

 Welcome Breakfast--Fruit, Egg Easy Bakes, Creme Brulee French Toast and White Rice with Sambal.

January 8--14, 2017

                                 Happy Birthday Lisa and Michael Bowen!

On Sunday, January 8 (Happy Bday Lisa) President, Sarah , Joanna, Claire and I all attended church in Solo in Sister Jatmiko's ward.  She will be going home in a week.  Her mom and dad (Bishop Catur) took us to their home after church and then to the airport.  Joanna loved playing with the magic sand with Sister Jatmiko's little brother. They left on Tuesday morning, January 10,  so sad to see them go!  That afternoon we had Mission Leadership Council and served Nasi Tumpang for dinner. President left for Timor Leste to look for a  building for a church.  I stayed in Jakarta.  Attended the Baptism of Jarat & Zebnev.  Also Daniel--They are Iranian refugees.  Taught with the Sister Training Leaders on Saturday afternoon.

 

January 1--7, 2017 Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  On New Year's Day--Sunday--we attended Tangerang Ward so Sarah and Daniel could meet President's former companion, Suharto.  Then on Monday, we were happy to have Sarah and the girls with us for a few more days while Daniel returned to Thailand for work.  At the end of the week we traveled to Yogyakarta and met with our missionaries.  Sarah helped in this meeting.  We also saw Borobudor -- the world's largest Buddhist temple -- and rode the elephants.

December 26--31, 2016

We finished out the year by taking a 3 day trip to Bali with Sarah, Daniel Joanna and Claire.  We'd been saving up Preparation Days for six months to use on this trip!  Well worth it!!  It's also great that our phones work pretty well wherever we are so we can still work with our missionaries.
