We said "goodbye" to  two sister missionaries and two Senior couple Missionaries.  We will miss them all so much!  Thank you for your service! 

The next day we welcomed four new missionaries:

On March 3 President taught a lesson on the United States Judicial System at Sampoerna University.

On Friday night Elder Wong from our Asia Area Presidency and Elder Meredith our Area Seventy came in for all day Leadership Training on Saturday.

Happy Birth Day Easton!  The most important event of this week is the birth of Easton Robert Bowen our 14th grandchild.  Welcome to the family beautiful Easton.  Great Job Lisa--and Michael.  Much thanks to Claire Bowen for helping this cute family.

     On Friday, February 10 President flew to Timor Leste to meet with the Demkes.  They continue to look for a building to meet in.  Sister Rowley flew back to Jakarta to get ready for Sister Linda Burton, General Relief Society President and her husband along with Elder and Sister Funk to visit Jakarta.  On the 13th we said goodbye to one of our assistants, Elder Lovelock who returned to Australia.  On the 15th we had a Mission Leadership Council meeting from 7:30 am until noon.  At noon we left immediately for the airport to pick up the Burtons and Funks who arrived at 1:55 pm.  We took them to their hotel and then to the Devotional scheduled for Saharjo building at 7--8 pm.  Sister Burton held  a Young Single Adult question and answer meeting before the devotional. It was a wonderful devotional and Sister Burton was so down to earth and loving to everyone.

On Thursday, February 16, the Burtons and Funks held a Devotional for all the Indonesia Service Center Employees at 9:30 and then from 11--1 pm they held  a devotional for all the Jakarta area missionaries.  Afterward we had a big luncheon and pictures.

 After the devotionals we took them all to their hotel and then to the airport.   We also went to the airport and flew to Medan to visit the missionaries and members.

   Attended church in Jakarta and then on Tuesday flew to Solo in Central Java for  interviews and Zone Conference.   On Thursday we flew to Surabaya in East Java for interviews and Zone Conference there.

President Hadi and his wife were in town from Surabaya.

January 29--February 4, 2017  Happy First Birthday Claire McConkie on January 30, 2017!!!
     On January 29 President Rowley reorganized the Branch Presidency of the Manado Branch.  We began another round of Zone Conferences with interviews this week and our big conference meeting on Friday, February 3rd.  On the 4th we attended an honorary banquet for a doctor who has contributed so much to improve Indonesian's health.  President also attended a meeting of the Public Affairs Counsel of the church in Indonesia.

We returned from Manado and I came down with the flu for a week.  We enjoyed a fantastic Missionary Broadcast from Salt Lake City for all missionaries on January 25.  President flew back to Manado on Friday to interview branch members and meet with our missionaries.  Top two photos from Manado.  The bottom two  photos were taken in Jakarta January 24th.  Poor quality photos but I couldn't resist showing some of our nightlife!  Crowded trucks and Sate across the street from the mission home.
